Totally Improbable
The film "Journey to the Center of the Earth" (most recent version) is so totally improbable, but I did like them ending up in Italy. The mine shaft roller coaster thing has been so overdone since the Indiana Jones movie.

Free Blogger

In support of the old geezer whose named after me, I am attaching a photo of myself to express my view that bloggers should be free to voice their opinions in spite of what governments might want. After all, that's what the First Amendment guarantees us in the U.S. This is not necessarily true in other nations.
Finally, it's turning!
That gianormous windmill is finally turning with a little bit of regularity. Even though it looks the same as the abbey windmill, only larger, it's just not as picturesque.
I wonder how many dogs have marked it yet? Let's just put that on my to-do (or should I say, to-pee) list.

Taxes and Stimulus
It seems like state and local governments are scrambling to generate revenue. Most are using the stimulus funds to plug holes in their budgets. Some, like New York, are trying to tax everything that moves.
It seems to me that they need to cut spending. That will generate funds to pay for the things that they need to spend money on--schools and roads.

Logo
I heard on the radio that there's a new logo for projects funded by the stimulus package. Sort of a reminder that Big Brother is looking after things for you. I guess the stimulus money kept a graphic artist from food stamps for a week.

Walking around Portsmouth
I was enjoying my walk around Island Park this bright, sunny afternoon. I noticed the giant windmill that the town built wasn't turning!! I thought this was supposed to help the town, not just become a giant fly swatter!! The blades weren't even set up to catch the wind! What is going on here?
That windmill has taken over the entire skyline. It looks like it will swat down airplanes with little problem! I hope it works.

24
Don't you love to watch 24? It really keeps you on the edge of your seat! You can always count on someone behind the scenes looking for power! And someone who should know better always makes a really stupid decision--like the President opening the door of her lockdown room. At least you know that Jack will always lose someone he loves during the course of the day and that he will beat up (or torture) someone every hour. Oh, well, it's only television.
Go hug your dog!

What I'm about
Have you ever noticed that there are a lot of stupid things going on in the world? There are some cool things, too, but I'm so distracted by the stupid things that I just have to speak out. Arf!!!
