You've got to wonder . . .

The Town Council all admitted that they were opposed to sewers in the town, but they hinted that the RI DEM (Rogues Island Department of Everything's Mine) would sue the town because the town accepted grant money to conduct at least two of the studies.

Now, the DEM is supposed to be on the side of the people of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. The last time I looked, the people and dogs of Portsmouth count as people of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations also. So if they sue Portsmouth, they are suing their constituents. Unless, of course, the people aren't really their constituents. Maybe it's other people with deeper pockets who want sewers in Portsmouth for their own nefarious reasons.

And what would they be suing Portsmouth about? Because Portsmouth doesn't want sewers, but a wastewater management district. Why should they care which way Portsmouth tends to its wastewater issues? Because the other two communities on the Rogues Island have a failed sewer system, and want to hook up to a brandy new one in Portsmouth paid for by Portsmouth taxpayers, not them. There is also a lot of currently vacant land that will be sewered so that then developers could build lots of stuff close together, instead of the good distances we have now. Follow the dough . . .

I find it absolutely appalling that the DEM thinks that because they've paid for a few studies that they own the decision outright in spite of the will of the voters and taxpayers, and they aren't even elected.

Well, all I've got to say the Rogues Island Department of Everything's Mine is

Town Councils and Rainfall

Don't you just hate it when it rains hard! I'm mean, yes, it's good for the grass and the plants and things, but have you ever had to go in the rain!! It's just hard to get the flow moving when you are being rained on!! It also keeps people inside and not wanting to attend the town council meeting where they are going to avoid voting on the sewers.

It's like the council is trying to avoid doing what the voters and taxpayers of this town want - vote down the sewers!!!! This is not rocket science nor should it be difficult. You'd think the non-elected political hacks in the town and the state have some sort of private agreement or something that will end up screwing the taxpayers!!!! Time to get someone to follow the dough!

I'm angry enough to go pee on their legs!

Maybe we should get the Tea Party to come and protest. They did a nice job at the State House last summer. How many protestors from other organizations would go through the metal detectors before marching around the State House to yell at the politicians.

Happy New Year

I first want to wish everyone a happy new year. What with the massive deficits facing us at the federal, state, and local levels, this year is shaping up to be a humdinger. I expect that we'll see more of the same locally since the town politicians don't have the nads to tell the legislature that they aren't going to pay for the unfunded mandates any more. Also, the taxpayers have to decide what services they are willing to do without!

Let's face it - all they can think of doing is raising taxes. So let's vote them out already - OK? Of course this requires candidates to run against them!! So run already! I can't run because I'm a dog and I'm not old enough - even in dog years! All I can do is piss on them through this blog.
