Poopy Pipes!!

I went to a meeting tonight about poopy pipes - you might know them as sewers. Through them flow the promises of many politicians. I don't see the need for them if people keep their septic systems up-to-date. Or you just have to have enough poopy bags. The RIDEM must be in someone's pocket if they are threatening to sue the town if they don't pass the sewer bond. Newport's City Manager is counting on saving Newport's sewer on the backs of Portsmouth's taxpayers. I think everyone should send a poopy bag to the Newport City Manager! The Portsmouth town council is meeting tomorrow night at the middle school. I hope lots of people turn out and bring signs because they are NOT allowing public comment. Still the first amendment allows many forms of speech such as signs. There's also throat clearing, coughing, booing, hissing, and pounding on the wooden seats they have at the middle school theater. Let the council know that they must vote down the sewers.

On another note, I heard the Dan Yorke show on WPRO. He had Collen Conley of the RI Tea Party and Harry Staley of RISC. It seems like Harry wants RISC to take over the Tea Party and the Tea Party doesn't want any of it. I think this spat is detracting from the primary issue which is stopping the legislation that will shackle us to binding arbitration. Both organizations share the same view of this issue, as they share the same views of many other issues. Each organization has its strengths and weaknesses. RISC is good at raising money and researching issues, but they don't move very fast and they are not spontaneous. The RI Tea Party is infinitely spontaneous and can generate a lot of excitment about an issue and get the people out, but it is not a large permanent organization, and has no fund-raising capability. RISC can collect various town taxpayer organizations, and provide them a voice at the state level. The RI Tea Party provides an umbrella for disparate groups that are connected by the desire for fiscal sanity. Similar aims, but very different groups.

Barkings

I like to bark! Let's face it - I'm a chihuahua and I hear every little thing moving around the neighborhood - the neighbors coming home, the cat, and the fishermen coming to fish down at the beach. I just bark to let my people know they are there, and to let those others know that I am here and will defend my turf.

What we need is a bark alert from the town hall or school building to alert the voters whenever the town council and school committee do something that is not in the best interests of the tax payers! Drawing down the town's fund balance is not in the best interests of the tax payers! These people were elected to LEAD. To lead means to make the hard decisions that will help get this town and state back on track. The only thing that Rhode Island is first in is being the worst place for a business!!

Vote the incumbents out!!!!

Always remember to carry an extra poopy bag - you'll never know when you meet a politician!!

Congress Stricks Again

Can you believe that Congress, more specifically, Senator Kerry, added a mark for $20 million to the Defense Appropriation to add an annex to the JFK Presidential Library for Senator Ted Kennedy? Well, I can! I don't put anything past these politicians!!! State Representative Loughlin is asking Congressman Patrick Kennedy to ask Senator Kerry to remove this mark.

I agree! There is no precedent for using public money to set up a memorial to a Senator or Congressman! Patrick Kennedy should use any influence he has to remove this mark and raise the money himself, or just use the family's money! They should not be using the taxpayers' money from all 50 states to honor ONE STATE's senator.

Piss on them all!!!!!
