A Summer Afternoon

This is a nice summer day. I went for a nature walk, and enjoyed the views of the beach and the flora and fauna. If everyone just took a nice walk once in awhile, they would not be as stressed out, nor would they have time to get into trouble.
Our politicians should be getting out and walking more instead of trying to regulate every inch of everyone's lives. I've got news for them -- they don't know what is best for me. They don't know what's best for anyone I know, or anyone I don't know for that matter. They like to think they know what's best for everyone, but they haven't got a clue!!
They just end up scurrying around passing bad legislation that they try to ram through Congress in a small amount of time so that no one can really study it first. Talk about voting with emotions instead of intelligence.
Instead of trying to solve everyone else's non-problems, they should focus on those areas where the government actually has a mandate -- foreign trade, foreign policy and defense. The government should be looking at ways to make U.S. industry the most competitive in the world, not hamstringing it with a carbon tax. They should be rewarding those who innovate, not taxing them so that it's fair for everyone else. The world is just waiting for the U.S. to fall on its sword and this government wants to pander to them.
